Ingredients

  • 2 oz silver tequila (Patrón Silver or Olmeca Altos recommended)
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice (about 1 medium lime)
  • ¾ oz freshly squeezed lemon juice (optional, for extra brightness)
  • ½ oz agave nectar (substitute 1 tsp monk fruit syrup for keto)
  • ¼ oz triple sec (Cointreau or homemade orange essence—skip for ultra-lean)
  • Pinch fine sea salt (enhances flavor)
  • Lime wheel or wedge for garnish
  • Coarse salt or Tajín for rimming (optional)

Instructions

  • Pour a small layer of coarse salt or Tajín onto a plate. Run a lime wedge around the glass’s rim, then dip it in the seasoning—give it a gentle twist to coat evenly.
  • In a cocktail shaker, add tequila, lime juice, lemon juice (if using), agave nectar, and triple sec.
  • Fill the shaker with large ice cubes. Ensure a strong chill without rapid dilution.
  • Secure the lid and shake hard for about 10 seconds until frosty.
  • Use a Hawthorne strainer or sieve to pour the cocktail into your rimmed glass, over fresh ice if desired.
  • Add a lime wheel to the rim and give it a little twist. Enjoy the citrus aroma.

Notes

Always use freshly squeezed juices for best taste. Adjust agave nectar for desired sweetness level. Opt for high-quality tequila for a better cocktail experience.
