Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard smooth
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup Grade A amber
  • 2 tablespoons honey optional for honey glaze twist
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 (5-7 lb) fully cooked spiral-cut or bone-in ham trim excess fat

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F. Place the ham on a rimmed baking sheet or in a shallow roasting pan lined with foil for easy cleanup.
  • Using a sharp chef’s knife, score crosshatch lines about ¼-inch deep to create pockets for the glaze.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar, Dijon mustard, maple syrup, honey, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and ground cloves until smooth.
  • Use a silicone brush to coat the ham evenly, making sure the glaze drips into the scored lines.
  • Roast the ham for 60–75 minutes, basting every 15–20 minutes with pan juices or extra glaze. Tent with foil if needed to prevent over-browning.
  • Broil the ham for 2–3 minutes until the edges bubble and turn golden for a glossy finish.
  • Remove the ham from the oven, tent, and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Score the ham lightly to allow the glaze to penetrate. Store leftover ham slices in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
