Ingredients
  

  • For Shrimp:
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup white wine optional
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
  • For Mashed Potatoes:
  • 2 lbs potatoes peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:
  • Boil the diced potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes.
  • Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  • Add milk and butter, then mash until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cook the Shrimp:
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • If using, pour in white wine and chicken broth, then simmer for 2 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
  • Season with red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Garnish with chopped parsley.
  • Serve:
  • Serve the garlic butter shrimp over a bed of creamy mashed potatoes.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add a splash of lemon juice to the shrimp sauce before serving.
