Ingredients

  • 1 11 oz bag Doritos Nacho Cheese or preferred flavor
  • 1 lb ground beef or substitute ground turkey/chicken
  • 1 packet taco seasoning 1 oz, homemade or store-bought
  • 6 cups romaine lettuce chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 15 oz can black beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup green onions sliced
  • 1/2 cup salsa mild, medium, or hot
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • Optional toppings avocado slices, jalapeño rings, cilantro, lime wedges

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the ground beef until no longer pink, about 5–7 minutes.
  • Stir in taco seasoning and ⅓ cup water, reduce heat to low, and simmer until seasoning coats the beef and liquid is absorbed, about 2–3 minutes.
  • Chop romaine lettuce, halve cherry tomatoes, and rinse and drain black beans in a fine mesh sieve.
  • On a large platter or in a bowl, layer lettuce, tomatoes, beans, and seasoned beef.
  • Crumble Doritos over the top and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese, letting the heat soften it slightly.
  • Top with salsa, sour cream, green onions, and any optional toppings. Serve immediately to maintain crunch.

Notes

Keep Doritos separate until serving to avoid sogginess. Leftover beef can be refrigerated up to 3 days. Customize spice level with salsa or jalapeños.
