Karen happily shared with Good Morning America, “It was incredibly easy!” We joyfully walked down the aisle, exchanged heartfelt vows, and then proceeded to the charming basement of our church for the delightful reception.

I absolutely adored the punch and cookies we had. Gary, who now has two sons and five grandchildren with Karen, added that it was all over within an hour.
Nikki and McCall, who both have their own wedding photography businesses, had a brilliant idea to organize a wedding photo shoot when they stumbled upon Karen’s wedding dress in storage at their home in Handford, California.

The Ryans lovingly rented Gary a white tuxedo to perfectly match the one he wore back in 1962. They joyfully spent an hour one-afternoon capturing beautiful photos of the couple, carefully recreating special moments from their original wedding day while also incorporating some modern traditions. The couple experienced a heartwarming moment during the photo shoot when Karen surprised Gary by revealing her dress, a sight he hadn’t seen in almost sixty years.

“We surprised my grandpa with a stylish tuxedo, and it was heartwarming to see my grandma effortlessly slip into her beloved dress,” Nikki shared on her Instagram. Then they experienced a first look, which brought tears to all of our eyes. Honestly, it was such a delightful surprise to witness their responses. We thoroughly enjoyed witnessing their cake cutting, heartfelt toasts, and enchanting first dance.”

The couple celebrated with champagne and indulged in feeding each other cake, just like they did on their wedding day all those years ago. Karen proudly donned the veil garter that accompanied her exquisite wedding gown.

The Ryans expressed their observation that one notable contrast between weddings in the past and present is the cost associated with them. The couple cherished their 1962 nuptials, which they estimated to have cost $500, a stark contrast to The Knot’s average wedding cost of $23,000 in 2019.
McCall shared that they happily spent $500 and are still deeply in love.
